Can video games help players overcome fear? And if how would such a game need to work? Which mechanics could be utilized, what would be required of its narration and what could it's core loops be? My Bachelor thesis was focused around exactly these questions.
Supervides by Prof. Mareike Föcking and Max Fiedler, I created sketches, a fairy-tale-like story line, characters, rough animations and a concept for the game. The result was a small exhibition of the different models, 3D prints, concept arts and a physical copy of the book that described my process and thoughts. Even though I finished my thesis, the project is still ongoing.
